The Trial of Van Helsing

Friday 2nd & Saturday 3rd February at 7.30pm

In the Storey auditorium

After the success of 2016’s Trial of Dr Jekyll the team at Attic Door Productions return with another new twist on a classic tale, as the most famous vampire hunter of all time faces the court.

When young Lucy Westenra falls ill with a mysterious illness, Dr John Seward calls upon his oldest friend and trusted mentor to attend to her. Professor Abraham Van Helsing has some strange ideas of the cause of her ailment and his treatments are strange and unknown.

When Lucy dies, what follows is a story that involves the desecration of graves, the murder of a man in Seward’s residence, the trapping and kidnapping of a girl and the discovery of three headless corpses. Van Helsing says that these actions were carried out for the greater good, but does his story ring true and can he explain the disappearance of the esteemed Count from Transylvania?

Faced with the facts laid out before you, the audience will decide if Van Helsing was justified in his actions or whether what transpired was due to the delusions of an unstable man.

His fate is in your hands as you, the audience play the jury in this interactive theatre performance. Guilty or Innocent. You decide.
